Integrated Systems

There are many aspects involved in successfully implementing an integrated security solution. An integrated solution may incorporate access control, video surveillance, intrusion and perimeter control, and mobile security. It may also connect to the human resources database, and incorporate the needs of the risk management, legal, and marketing departments, as well as executive management, to promote the safety of your facility.

Integrating your security solutions also removes the hassle of managing several systems. By integrating your physical and logical systems, you can dramatically simplify access to facilities and networks, saving time and effort by allowing you to monitor all your systems from one place. You can increase surveillance efficiency by tying all your perimeter, intrusion and intelligent video systems together. An integrated system can be scalable for any size organization, while still providing the convenience and increased security that each system would provide individually.

Some benefits to integrating include:

  • Monitor from a single location: Easily monitor users, proof of identity, and access options within the entire framework, and control access to information and sensitive areas on a day-to-day, person-to-person basis from a single location.
  • Track unusual behavior: Video recording and access systems can be synched to enhance the ability to recognize unusual behavior and track employees and guests throughout the facility. By allowing all the systems to work together, incidents can be avoided or caught early, and investigation simplified by all the information that is gathered and compiled through a single system.
  • Ease of single sign-on: One card and password for your employee to remember—no memorizing numerous passwords that must be verified. Access can be tracked with one complete system that can be easily changed if a breach occurs or a card is lost.

A trusted security advisor can help you consider the various business factors that go into an enterprise-wide security solution, such as reducing the number of systems that are managed and monitored, and helping you to reduce your total cost of ownership. Your security advisor will work with you to design the best solution for your needs and environment, taking into account your unique industry factors and regulatory issues.

Access Control

Access control systems limit your exposure because businesses are vulnerable to internal, as well as external threats. Access control solutions can track and restrict who goes where—and when. Only authorized users can enter your facility, or designated areas within your facility—reducing the possibility of internal theft and external threats, protecting your physical and intellectual property, and limiting potential workplace violence.

FS Systems, Inc. provides cost-effective security. We'll replace your existing mechanical locks and keys with electronic locks, badges or cards and readers. This offers significant benefits:

  • An Access Control system eliminates the expense of rekeying or changing locks when an employee leaves
  • Users/employees are less likely to set off false alarms
  • Automatically regulating access reduces the need for onsite security personnel
  • System allows for temporary access by visitors and vendors
  • Access control decreases your liability and risk

At FS Systems, Inc., we offer a choice of two access control solutions, web-based or server-based. Technology is rapidly advancing to offer bundled, web-based solutions that allow security professionals to perform their job from any computer in the world while the server-based solution offers a traditional enterprise approach.

CCTV & IP Based Security Cameras

Video technology can be a powerful deterrent to both external and internal theft. It can also provide evidence and help protect you from false slip-and-fall claims and similar threats. FS Systems, Inc. can provide a state-of-the-art video surveillance solution that use the latest digital video technology for continuous, automated recording and clear images that never degrade. What's more we can seamlessly integrate cameras, digital video recorders and ancillary equipment with card access, verified audio detection and any other modular components of your system for even greater security.

With a complete CCTV system, you have the functionality to check on your business or properties from anywhere in the world via internet connectivity. Simultaneous recording and video playback ensures that you never miss an important event at your facility, even when you review the events already recorded. The technology today will allow you to customize your system to meet the needs of your infrastructure, be it IP or hardwired analog system.

Video surveillance is now playing an increasingly important role in proactively deterring crime, as well as in the investigation after an incident takes place.

By monitoring grounds, sensitive areas, and general work spaces, your organization can literally keep an eye on everything at once. With new technology available today, your intelligent video surveillance system can actually monitor unusual behavior for you and create alarms for suspicious activities through live video feeds or by providing time/date stamps for later viewing. This drastically reduces the need to view hours of video when investigating an incident.

FS Systems, Inc's engineering teams will work with you to navigate such issues as:

  • Developing a surveillance master plan that creates value and long-term strategy for the executive management team while functioning properly on a tactical level.
  • Building a communication plan that articulates improved return on investment (ROI) and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Preparing a design, implementation, and service strategy that considers short and long-term needs, as well as a plan to install and care for your video solution.

FS Systems, Inc. has helped hundreds of organizations understand their options, and we will work with you to engineer customized solutions that fit your unique needs.

We can engineer video solutions ranging from a stand-alone camera to a fully integrated system with intelligent video capabilities, and are well versed in IP, analog, and hybrid video solutions. We benchmark the various solutions on the market, and recommend the best option for your needs.

Intrusion & Perimeter

Perimeter and intrusion detection are crucial elements of a secure facility.

Utilities and critical infrastructure industries such as power, water, and other government applications may require perimeter protection in order to ensure that no intruders gain access to facility grounds. Any organization that has vulnerable information, employees or facilities, such as schools, corporate campuses, and government buildings, can benefit from intrusion detection.

When working to meet this need, what are important items to consider?

  • Knowledge is power: The sooner an intrusion is detected and the appropriate people notified, the sooner it can be taken care of. For real-time situations as well as investigating events, an intrusion detection system is an invaluable tool.
  • The well-being of your employees: This is a priority in any facility, and by closely monitoring the grounds and structures you can ensure their safety.
  • Integrating intrusion and perimeter systems with the rest of your security system: By doing this, you can get a clearer picture of an incident from beginning to end. Knowing when someone enters the perimeter is the first step to determining who, what, when, and where if there is a problem. Intrusion and perimeter detection systems can interface with access control, video surveillance, or other systems to catch intruders before anyone is in danger.

As your security partner, FS Systems, Inc. will utilize its years of experience with these systems to help you determine the specific intrusion and perimeter detection solution that best fits your facility. We can engineer your systems so that all the components of your security solution work correctly with each other, giving you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your facility is safe on all fronts.

Telephone Entry & Emergency Intercom Systems

The installation of emergency communication and intercom systems provide a sense of security in large, open areas such as college campuses, parking garages, and medical facilities. In an emergency situation, simply push a button and the system automatically notifies the attendant of your exact location. The attention-drawing strobe light flashes until the call is terminated by security personnel who have cleared the call. Mass notification alerts can also be delivered directly to student's cell phones, an ideal solution to convey a message. These systems are becoming more prevalent and can easily be integrated into existing emergency communications systems.

Video Badging

Photo ID Badges are an important method of determining who belongs where and in what building(s)/facility. Different backgrounds and logos can easily be manipulated and printed, giving your company and employees a professional image.

Your custom designed formats are printed on the badge using a high quality, long lasting process. The image may be printed directly on a wallet sized card, and may include barcodes, magnetic stripes or smart chips. Video Badging systems and printers allow the customer to take and store pictures in their system forever (ex. lost badges). When networked with the Access Control System's database this allows the employee's history and picture to work together (Example: one entry and picture in human resources, and then security assigns access levels, per management.
